Interstate 280 is a major north-south arterial that runs 57.22 miles from San Jose to San Francisco, passing through Daly City on its way north. The freeway section between State Route 1 in Daly City and the Junipero Serra Grade is officially known as the Junipero Serra Freeway, renowned for its beauty and the open vistas it provides to travelers. The highway bisects Daly City and serves as the primary transportation corridor connecting the Peninsula with San Francisco and points south.

The Daly City BART station opened on November 5, 1973, becoming a key transit node for the region. The station serves as the terminus of BART's Green and Blue lines and represents the point in the BART network where every destination in the system can be reached without a transfer during normal hours. Extensions later brought BART to Colma in 1996 and to San Francisco International Airport in 2003, making Daly City a central hub in the region's rapid transit network.

Commuters and families who choose Daly City for its position between the Peninsula and San Francisco often have complicated work and family schedules that depend on that transit access. Life insurance coverage should reflect that complexity: enough to protect the income that makes the commute worthwhile, and enough to cover the obligations that tie the household to both places.
